Bob. G. Kisiki was born in 1969 in Kamuli, South Eastern Uganda. He studied at Namasagali College, National Teachers College, Nkozi and Makerere University where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Kisiki is an editor at the Institute of Adult and Continuing Education, Makerere University, and teaches Linguistics, Stylistics and Literature to B. Ed students in the same institute. Kisiki also writes on theatre and reviews books for the New Vision newspaper. In addition to fiction, Kisiki writes poetry and short stories.
The King Gang is about Awazi Kati, a boy we witness growing up amidst love, pain adventure and dejection. Awazi’s young life is marked by questions and searching. At the end, how-ever, we see a future full of promise opening up for Awazi, largely through the intervention of the king gang.’
