This book is about the extraordinary life and business career of Gordon Babala Kasibante Wavamunno, one of the most successful indigenous African entrepreneurs and a household name in Uganda.
Born in 1943 he rose from a modest businessman in Mbarara in the 1960s to become a dominant entrepreneur in Uganda for the last twenty five years.
Gordon Wavamunno has built a vast business empire in wide range of fields including transport manufacturing , tourism , insurance and banking, motor vehicle distribution, trade , commercial farming, electronic media and property development . At 56 he is still determined to consolidate and expand his businesses and to extend them beyond Uganda in to the Great Lake region, eastern and southern Africa.
But Wavamunno is much more than a businessman. He is a diplomat, philanthropist and civil society activist. He has built schools and churches, paid school fees for hunderds of Ugandan students, built roads, rendered community services and contributed to the revivel of cicil society in Uganda thought his participation in business organization like, Uganda Manufacturers Association, Uganda Motor Industry Association , the Private Sector Foundation and others.
