‘’The impact of this book goes beyond Uganda and deserves to be taken very seriously.’ Africa World Review.
Museveni’s Long March tells the inside story of a truly successful revolution and the rise to power of Uganda’s President YoweriKaguta Museveni. OndogaoriAmaza, a senior officer in Museveni’s National Resistance Army (NRA), provides a fascinating and revealing account of the overthrow of President Milton Obote’s oppressive regime and the military dictatorship of General Tito Okello. Odonga exaplains how Museveni and the NRA were able to gain power in Uganda by principled leadership and national program that has eschewed sectarianism and factionalism to facilitate a lasting and prosperous peace in what is now one of the fastest growing economies in Africa.
OndogaoriAmaza, from Moyo in Northern Uganda, joined Museveni’s rebel army in 1982, first serving in the medical unit and later in the political unit where he was responsible for training cadres across Uganda and members of the ANC’s military wing. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly which produced Uganda’s constitution. He died in 1995 shortly after completing work on this, his only, book.
